1st day: Modena and surroundings

Arrival in Modena and accommodation in hotel in Modena or surroundings. Guided tour to Modena old city centre: the Cathedral, Piazza Grande and the Ghirlandina tower (UNESCO), the city hall and the Ducal Palace.

Visit of Albinelli Market The Liberty-style market hall in Via Albinelli was created in 1931, to house the stalls that had always been set up around Piazza Grande. The traders of the Mercato Albinelli proffer all types of produce and foodstuffs, including many typical of the locality, as well as certified goods.

Afternoon: visit of an acetaia where you’ll discover the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena DOP and Aceto Balsamico di Modena PGI or visit to a production of Lambrusco DOC wine with tasting. Guided tour to one of the scenic art cities in Modena surroundings (Carpi, Nonantola, Vignola, Castelvetro, Sassuolo,…). Dinner and overnight stay.

2nd day: Modena and Maranello

Morning: guided tour to a cheese dairy producing Parmigiano-Reggiano DOP.  Visit of the Museo Ferrari in Maranello or Enzo Ferrari museum in Modena. Lunch in a restaurant.  Visit of Luciano Pavarotti house museum.

All the producers visited during the stay belong to the Wine and Travel Italy community.
