1st day: Modena

Arrival and check-in at the hotel or agriturismo in Modena or surroundings. Welcome drink. Guided tour of Modena city centre. Dinner in a restaurant and overnight stay.

2nd day: Modena – Maranello – Castelvetro

Full day tour driving vintage or supercars. Pick up of the cars at the hotel, briefing, delivery of the road books. Departure. Visit of a cheese dairy producing organic Parmigiano – Reggiano DOP and of the Museo dell’ Auto e Moto d’Epoca Umberto Panini. It is home to a collection of about 40 cars, 30 motorbikes and a selection of bicycles, motors and interesting military vehicles. The vehicles in the collection are of great value to Maserati, also because they are unique: the “6CM” from 1936, of which only 27 were made and which dominated European races in the “small car” category and won the “Targa Florio” award, the “A6GCS Berlinetta Pininfarina”, of which only four were made, which, with its “Barchetta” bodywork, won the “1000 Miglia” race in its category three times. Visit of an “acetaia” where you’ll discover and taste the Traditional Balsamic vinegar of Modena. Light lunch buffet with traditional food from Modena. Transfer to Maranello. Guided tour of the Ferrari Musuem in Maranello.   Half day tour driving vintage or supercars on the hills of Castelvetro.

The ancient medieval village of Castelvetro, blessed with a striking hillside location, stages several notable festivals over the course of the year. These include September’s Wine Festival, summer’s celebration of the absurd, AKA Mercurdo, and the ‘Splendour of the 16th Century’, featuring a historical cortege and party at the castle. The village is especially known for its Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro wine, along with walnut liqueur, honey, balsamic vinegar and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, sampled in its handful of restaurants and surrounding rustic centres.

3rd day: Modena

Morning: visit to the private Stanguellini museum, where you’ll admire the first Fiat Sport 750 and 1100 cars, the engine constructed entirely by Stanguellini in 1950 and also the glorious Stanguellini Junior 1100 from the 1960s, winner of the Montecarlo Junior GP of 1959, up to the famous Colibrì designed by Scaglione and the prestigious Formula 3, a jewel of sports creativity.

Visit of the Maserati factory and Show room in Modena.  Lunch in a agriturismo in Modena surroundings.

Delivery of the cars and end of services.

When was the last time you had dinner in an Italian restaurant in Canada and you thought you were dining in Italy? That’s exactly how “Ospitalità Italiana Certified”restaurants want you to feel when you visit their fine dining establishments.

Ospitalità Italiana is an official certification from Unioncamere, Italy’s federation of local Chambers of Commerce and Industry, that tells you that the food you are enjoying is unquestionably Italian: products are authentic, ingredients genuine and recipes true to the thousand year history of Italian cuisine.

Canada is home to some leading Italian Chefs. Passionate and innovative, many have refined their skills and advanced their knowledge directly in Italy. In addition, Montréal boasts a fabulous cooking school ITHQ where young aspiring chefs learn Italian technic and Italian traditional recipes from the masters.

So the next time you make reservations for an Italian dinner in a Montreal restaurant, ask if they’ve received the Ospitalità Italiana seal of approval. You will enjoy the true Italian taste.
