Cantine Gini

Cantine Gini is a family-run business that has been around for decades and is located in the province of Verona in Veneto.

Sandro and Claudio inherited the company from their father Olinto and have continued to maintain the family traditions and legacies for generations to come. Their vineyard property contains over 55 hectares of land and spans across the historic hills of Soave Classico in Monteforte and contains the famous “Tenuta Scajari” in Campiano, the eastern part of the Valpolicella DOC area. The Gini family has owned this land since the early 1500’s and their passion for wine-making has been passed down through 15 generations. Today, the family is still known for creating high quality wines using all natural and organic ingredients.

The Cantine Gini are well-known for their unique wine production areas and the quality results that it yields. One cellar is located in Monteforte, which is dug out from the black volcanic rock of the Soave Classico hills and allows for the vines to reach a high level of maturity and this is where they produce La Froscà and Contrada Salvarenza, some of their more well-known products. In Tenuta Scajari in Campiano, their cellars and vineyards are located amidst the hilly landscape and this is where they produce their Amarone and Valpolicella wines.

The composition of the soil varies considerably from one area to the other, going from volcanic tuff to calcareous layers. This is what defines the complexity of the wines and the nuances of the various crus. The different microclimates contribute to the character of the wine, an example being the cold currents that blow at night on the Frosc à hill, which create an ext raordinary blend of perfumes in the wines.
