Tenute Paese

The Paese family has been a major landowner in the Sila mountain area of Calabria, passing along the land throughout the generations for over 150 years.

In 2004, brothers Vincenzo, Ercole and Aldo created a company dedicated to the art of fine Calabrian wine, the Tenute Paese Winery.

The 15 hectares of vineyards of the estate lie on the slopes of the Sila mountains in the  Terre di Cosenza DOC, at an elevation of 250 metres above sea level. This geographic position just a few kilometres from the sea results in a microclimate with the ideal ratio of dryness and humidity to produce premium grapes.

Indigenous varieties like MaglioccoMantonicoPecorelloMalvasia BiancaGreco Nero and Greco Bianco make up the production of the Tenute Paese winery, along with other Italian varieties such as Montepulciano d’AbruzzoSangiovese and Fiano di Puglia, and international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon.

The mix of grapes and the production processes are used to make Tenute Paese wines is to create a wine that evokes strength, elegance and complexity.
