Venturini Baldini

The agricultural estate of Venturini Baldini was founded in 1976 on a historic estate located in the hills between Parma and Reggio Emilia.

Located at the heart of Emilia, in the foothills of the Apennine mountains between Parma and Reggio Emilia, the Tenuta Venturini Baldini is an avant-garde agricultural estate.  Since the beginning focused on sustainable farming, the estate has been certified organic since 1994, shortly after the legislation on organic production came into effect.  Today the estate produces award-winning organic wines, balsamic vinegar and olive oils, as well as being home to the Wine & Balsamic Relais Roncolo 1888.

Situated in the heart of Emilia, where the Food and Motor Valley meet, the Wine & Balsamic Relais Roncolo 1888 is the perfect location to discover Emilia.  A century-old borgo surrounded by 130 hectares of organic land, and for many years the private residence of noble families, today Roncolo 1888 is the result of an attentive restoration carefully preserving the heritage of the past and your hideaway in the Emilian countryside and the essence of elegant hospitality in Italy’s Food Valley.

Since 1976, the name Venturini Baldini brand been synonymous with the highest quality, organic wines made in Emilia Romagna. The c. 130 hectare large family estate is known for its estate-grown, organic, dry Lambrusco wines and other sparkling wines from Emilia, striving to maintain authentic and sustainable wine-making traditions by creating wines that innovate and inspire.

With a manual harvest, their team of oenologists and consultants carefully selects the grapes to guarantee the best organoleptic and olfactory characteristics.

In additional the Lambrusco grape varieties such as Sorbara, Grasparossa and Salamino, the estate also grows Spergola, Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, Pinot Nero, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio.

    The Relais Roncolo 1888 is the resort of the Venturini Baldini estate and is a dreamlike setting for every occasion. Located at the heart of Italy’s Food Valley and Motor Valley, it is the perfect destination for all visitors of Emilia to discover its enogastronomic excellence, history, culture and beautiful landscape. Their estate is not only part of splendid naturalistic scenery but also has a rich historical heritage.  Guests enjoy experiences ranging from tasting tours, cooking classes, visits to local producers, and vintage car rides.

    Relais Roncolo 1888 is your home away from home in the Emilian countryside.  Located in the upper part of our estate, the relais is a borgo around the Italian garden of the historic Villa Manodori. The 17 recently renovated rooms and suites are located in three buildings on the upper level of the estate: Villa Manodori and its outbuildings Dimora Ancini and Dimora Acetaia.  The buildings and rooms have been renovated with care and respect for traditional features following a multi-year restoration, and offer guests the opportunity to spend a relaxing stay. A delicious breakfast buffet offers a wide choice of organic products made in-house and from local producers.

    Wine & Balsamic Experience

    •  Wine Tasting: Their wine shop is open Monday to Saturday for guests who want to taste wines and vinegar and other typical local products. The winery offers guided tasting tours for a minimum of 2 and up to a maximum of 50 people. Wine tastings take participants through the award-winning range of Venturini Baldini wines, paired with local specialities.

     

    •  Balsamico Tasting: Enter the wondrous world of the Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Reggio Emilia in Roncolo’s historic Acetaia di Canossa, where our team lets you discover the traditions and secrets of balsamico making, followed by a tasting paired with aged parmesan cheeses. Acetaia di Canossa has its origins in a historic vinegar factory, housed in a building from the 17th century, located in the upper part of the estate. A place that represents the important historical matrix of our vinegar production, whose heritage is represented, among other things, by a battery made up of more than 400 small barrels from different woods. Made of juniper, oak, cherry, ash and chestnut wood, each barrel gives the vinegar its own unmistakable aroma.
