White grape variety: Trebbiano
Red grape variety: Sangiovese or Montepulciano
Located in Rome, the Cerveteri area’s hills are suited for cultivating grapevines, because of the breeze present, due to their proximity to the sea.
This appellation’s origin dates back to ancient history: it is believed that the Etruscans would use supports to hold the vine up during cultivation, a practice still used in many regions of central Italy .
This wine, produced in either white or red (as rosato, secco, amabile, frizzante or novella) pairs well with roasted fish and fried vegetables such as aubergines, artichokes and zucchini.
