Friuli Grave is a DOC wine appellation located in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, mainly known for its white wines made from Pinot Grigio and Friulano grapes but also Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Red wines are also produced in this wine zone from various grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, a local red wine grape.
This wine zone is located between the Julian Alps and the Adriatic Sea making its climate and gravelly soil ideal for viticulture.
The white wines produced here pair well with fish or as an aperitivo, while the red wines pair well with beef dishes.
