From the expert hands of Franco Ziliani and Guido Berlucchi was born in 1961 the first sparkling wine from the classic method of the territory: the first Franciacorta. The Guido Berlucchi winery is today a Wine Destination for wine lovers all over the world.

PRESENTATION

In the heart of Franciacorta, a few kilometers from the shores of Lake Iseo stands Guido Berlucchi, the founding and reference company of Franciacorta; named “Winery of the Year 2022” by Gambero Rosso for “having made the history of the classic Italian method”. Here, in fact, was born in 1961, from expert hands of Franco Ziliani and Guido Berlucchi the first classic method sparkling wine of the territory: the first Franciacorta.

The winery is now managed by the three sons of the owner Ziliani: Cristina, Arturo and Paolo, who led it into the new millennium continuing the paternal mission focused on innovation and enhancement of the territory; taking care of a brand synonymous with Franciacorta and quality, but also with modern research and sustainability.

The Guido Berlucchi winery is today also a Wine Destination for wine lovers from all over the world. Excavated ten meters below ground level, the historic cellar amazes and fascinates its visitor: a complex of galleries and large vaults, built around the suggestive central heart of the late 1600s, which still houses the first bottle, vintage 1961. And, above it, Palazzo Lana with its ancient walls.

TERRITORY

The hilly area of Franciacorta, a hub of traffic and trade since ancient times, is already mentioned in the Statutes of the Municipality of Brescia dated 1277. Viticulture on the hills of Franciacorta has been practiced since the year one thousand, as confirmed by numerous sources. An industrious territory made of soft hills that allow, thanks also to the mitigating action of Lake Iseo and the cool breezes coming from Val Camonica, to ensure the vineyards ideal temperatures and marked temperature ranges, necessary to concentrate the aromas in the grapes allowing to obtain wines with intense and ample aromas.
