Cà di Rajo

Overview

While known as an established producer of Prosecco, Cà di Rajo’s strength lies in their ability to make spumante through more traditional methods often  forgone by competing vineyards.

Established in the years prior to prosecco attaining its world renown status, Cà di Rajo, situated in the Treviso area of the Veneto, has been utilizing the Glera varietal to expertly produce acclaimed Prosecco. Family owned since the 1930s, the vineyard has become a showcase for the more traditional methods of wine production, often left by the wayside by larger wine producers.

Maintaining complete control over production methods, the Cecchetto family have been able to retain many of the standards typically associated with high quality viniculture without having to outsource or compromise their production methods. A key facet in the wineries success has been the Veneto’s distinct climate, with the local grape varieties benefiting from the cooler northern winds of the area’s alpine border as well as the more temperate southerly Adriatic breeze.

While known as an established producer of Prosecco, Cà di Rajo’s strength lies in their ability to make spumante through more traditional methods often  forgone by competing vineyards. With a heavy reliance on the charmat method of producing the traditional Italian wine, the vineyard intertwines the traditional with the more contemporary, bringing into the forefront an age old method of producing Prosecco for a 21st century clientele.

This interplay between old and new is seen in their winery, a building replete with modern facilities while still embracing its traditional surroundings. It is within this environment that the Cà di Rajo has managed to produce some of Treviso’s most acclaimed wines.
