Tacchino

Luigi Tacchino’s vineyards have been a staple of the region’s viticulture for over three generations.

In Castelletto d’Orba, the 25 hectares of Luigi Tacchino’s vineyards have been a staple of the region’s viticulture. It has been nestled at the heart of Monferrato’s renowned wine country for over three generations. Today, Luigi’s grandchildren Romina and Alessio continue the family’s rich winemaking tradition, overseeing every carefully controlled production stage from the initial picking of the grapes to the marketing of the final product.

Providing natural shelter from the northern winds, the surrounding hills and their rich ashy soil bless Tacchino’s vines with the perfect setting to express their trademark colour, aroma and flavour. Following the family’s high-quality standards, the grapes are picked by hand each fall at the peak of ripeness. As their grandfather before them, the new owners know the importance of maintaining intimate contact with the land and its traditions to produce wines with character.

In keeping with the times, this new generation of winemakers has embraced new technologies to help ensure the constant quality of their production, enlisting the help of expert oenologists to uphold the vineyard’s century-old tradition of excellence and originality.

Thanks to the forward-thinking approach of Romina and Alessio, Tacchino now showcases a surprising array of lesser-known gems alongside their already impressive portfolio of signature wines, such as the Bianco Gavi, Rosso Dolcetto d’Ovada and Barbera del Monferrato.
