Tenute del Travale

Tenuta del Travele’s slogan: Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio: Cultivated in Calabria, with love, holds a lot of meaning when it comes to this small mountain winery.

Originally started in 1993, the owners took over a completely abandoned and unyielding estate and, through their love and passion for winemaking, transformed it into the lush and productive winery that it has become today.

The vineyards of the Travale Estate consist exclusively of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grape varieties, red wines that are known for their fruity and earthy nuances. Located near the town of Rovito, just a thirty-minute drive from the spectacular blue sea of the Tyrrhenian coast.

With an elevation of 500 meters above sea level and continuous all-day sun exposure, this relatively small vineyard of just five hectares is the ideal wine-growing area. The cultivating is done all by hand, and the grapes are then meticulously and rigorously processed to express the unique peculiarities that the territory has to offer. Overall this speaks to Tenuta del Travale’s commitment to taste and quality over quantity.
