Caviro

Caviro is the most representative wine cooperative in Italy, with over 12,800 winegrowers in 7 regions and 10% of Italian grapes harvested, making it the largest winery in all of Italy.

The company was founded in 1966 in Faenza, in the province of Emilia-Romagna, to enhance its members’ grapes in a land where wine is valued for its quality and excellence. Caviro produces a wide variety of wines and exports to over 70 countries, making it a leading agricultural cooperative in the wine sector.

In the last 5 years alone, the company has received over 200 national and international awards and their historic Tavernello brand has the highest alcohol percentage in the world.

The company has devoted its hard work and resources to ensure the use of only natural ingredients and processes towards sustainable innovation. Their commitment is reflected in enhancing their agro-industrial sectors: every year, Caviro Extra recovers the sub-products that are transformed into noble products and biomethane, an ecological product, which is introduced into the national network in the form of energy.

Caviro has also created Enomondo, a joint venture committed to the production of energy from renewable resources. They create green sustainable compost that can be used in organic farming, as well as in electrical and thermal energies; this process has resulted in a reduction of 66,000 tons of CO2 each year because the energy created feeds all of the Group’s plants, making them self-sufficient.

If the group represents a point of reference in the world wine sector, the credit should be given to the people who make the supply chain unique and authentic. Caviro leadership is confirmed by the over 700 awards received in recent years, with prizes in the most prestigious national and international competitions, among which Mundus Vini, Gambero Rosso, Wine Spectator and Best Italian Wines stand out.

Thanks to the richness of the supply chain, they offer a variety of wines representative of the excellence of 7 Italian regions. With passion and commitment they have built a taste experience that reaches millions of people every day, through large-scale retail channels in Italy and around the world.
