Produced in the town it is named after, San Daniele in the province of Udine in Fruili Venezia Giulia, Prosciutto di San Daniele DOP is one of the most beloved cured meats from Northern Italy.

Presentation

Made from the thighs of pigs raised in the region, Prosciutto di San Daniele has a distinct “guitar shape” and can weigh up to 10kg. The meat is soft but compact, and has a delicate taste which is enhanced by sea salt which is added during the curing process.

The meat is typically enjoyed on its own or with sliced bread and often combined with local Montasio DOP cheese, it pairs well with white wine such as Collio DOC.
