The territory historically presents a unique microclimate that has allowed the production of wines with specific characteristics and a particular specialization in the production of Pinot grigio, thus being able to create a single macro area known as “tre Venezie”, “Triveneto” or “delle Venezie” , based on a criterion of proximity and pedo-climatic affinity. The territory of delle Venezie includes systems of viticultural lands characterized by common elements, first of all the history and geology of the material from which the chemical and physical characteristics of the soil originated.
In terms of numbers, 85% of the Italian production, the first in the world by volume, is produced in the Triveneto area. Only here, in 2016, were 23,374 hectares of vineyards reached, with significant increases compared to 2014 (+ 30.3% in Veneto, + 23.2% in Friuli Venezia Giulia and + 4.5% in the Province of Trento).
Pinot Grigrio represents the 4th grape variety cultivated in Italy. The new Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie DOC include the production of all Pinot Grigio del Triveneto DOC, while retaining territorial characteristics of each area.
Wines from the new Delle Venezia DOC are recognizable by the special logo printed on each of the bottles produced!
