With its headquarters in Castel S.Pietro Terme, Sgarzi Luigi represents the vineyards desire to maintain strong historical roots while still adapting to a 21st century market.

The Sgarzi traditional family home is juxtaposed by the vineyards offices, comprised of sustainable materials and embodying the latest in technology, it represents a showcase for a vineyard that vies to intertwine its historical past with that of its modern aspirations.

Comprised of a dedicated laboratory for chemical analysis, technical tasting and research, Cantine Sgarzi utilizes modern processes to help provide greater quality control and flavorful wines in a process to guarantee the vineyards continued relevance within Italian viniculture. Similarly, included in its winery is purpose built cellar for the aging of the wines with a total storage capacity of fifteen million liters.

The great attention to customers and commitment to quality have led the company to expand the business in new markets and to open recently two commercial offices in China and Mexico.

Comprising of an 80 years old legacy, the vineyard still regards itself as younger and more dynamic than ever. With a family history of winemaking dating back to 1933, when Luigi Sgarzi first started supplying barrels to the famous inns in Bologna, the company has gone on to be run by Stefano Sgarzi, the founder’s nephew. With a strong commitment to viniculture, Stefano has combined traditional winemaking techniques with new technologies, helping to significantly expand the company, domestically and internationally, with its wines currently being exported to over 7 countries globally.
