L’Azienda Vinicola Farina SRL was born, at the beginning of the 19th century, so more than 100 years ago, from the passion and desire of the founders, to enhance and spread the enormous potential for the production of high quality wine in the hands of Claudio and Elena Farina, two cousins who represent the third generation and who, together with Sandro (Claudio’s father), take the company forward with the same passion for the earth and for this fantastic world.
The estate is in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica, in the hamlet of Pedemonte and the vineyards are found both in the plains and in the high hill areas. Immersed in the green of the vineyards. The family owns 10 hectares of vineyards (70 hectares of our grape suppliers) some of them are in the plain, others are in the hilly area. The vineyard on the hill called “Montefante”, allows to harvest the best grapes used for the production of Amarone Riserva Montefante, which is produced only when the conditions are perfect. In the vineyards on the hill called “Montecorna” we find the grapes used to make the Ripasso Montecorna.
In January 2018, the family presented their new project “Transparency, vision 2018” after three years of work on it! The aim of the project is to show the identity of the vineyard and allow people to perceive reality without any filter, in a totally transparent way. It is a project intended to enhance each aspect of production and each person or company that contributes to the production of wine, from winegrowers and suppliers to winegrowers.
We can say that Valpolicella Classica is one of the best sites to produce quality wine. There is Lake Garda in the West area (a few kilometers away) which mitigates the climate and avoids excessive thermal excursions. The surrounding hills guarantee perfect sun exposure and a windy climate, perfect to avoid the formation of mold and rot. The Monte Baldo and the cool climate of the Lessini mountains, avoid excessive heat during the ripening of the grapes and help to have good acidity.
The soil is perfect: a mixture of limestone and clay that gives the natural structure and the typical body of the red wines of this region. A vast territory, surrounded by greenery, near Lake Garda and Úi montio lessini.

When was the last time you had dinner in an Italian restaurant in Canada and you thought you were dining in Italy? That’s exactly how “Ospitalità Italiana Certified”restaurants want you to feel when you visit their fine dining establishments.
Ospitalità Italiana is an official certification from Unioncamere, Italy’s federation of local Chambers of Commerce and Industry, that tells you that the food you are enjoying is unquestionably Italian: products are authentic, ingredients genuine and recipes true to the thousand year history of Italian cuisine.
Canada is home to some leading Italian Chefs. Passionate and innovative, many have refined their skills and advanced their knowledge directly in Italy. In addition, Montréal boasts a fabulous cooking school ITHQ where young aspiring chefs learn Italian technic and Italian traditional recipes from the masters.
So the next time you make reservations for an Italian dinner in a Montreal restaurant, ask if they’ve received the Ospitalità Italiana seal of approval. You will enjoy the true Italian taste.
