Poderi dal Nespoli is a winery estate founded in 1929 in Romagna, Italy’s food & wine centre.
A quote from the owners: “Our desire is to be the most authentic, genuine and innovative expression of our region at low environmental impact, thus taking our taste and identity throughout the world.”
Poderi dal Nespoli cultivates their vineyards and have their cellars in the Bidente Valley, the most suitable for growing grapes in the southern part of the Emilia-Romagna region, among Bologna, Florence, the Apennines and the Adriatic coast. The Bidente Valley is characterized by breath-taking landscapes and is very favourable are for growing grapes because of its unique layout. The valley is naturally funnel-shaped, which allows hot and cold air currents as well as considerable daily temperature changes making it a perfect microclimate for the optimal development of the vines.
The winery was founded in 1929. Today, the Martini family manages the estate together with the 3rd and 4th generations of the Ravaioli family, combining the great knowledge of growing grapes and the terroir with a visionary international business attitude. The vineyards are located all close to the winery, in the hilly lands of Romagna. Prugneto, a single-vineyard Sangiovese, is the true expression of the area; it takes its name from the first plot of land bought by the family in the early ‘40s. The plum trees that grow nearby give the wine strong fruity characteristics.
