Baccellieri

Azienda Agricola Baccellieri is a family-run winery located in the small town of Bianco in Calabria, the South of Italy, with vineyards overlooking the Ionian Sea.

Mariolina Baccellieri is the owner of the Baccellieri Farm, a family-run business, that produces a variety of different wines as well as citrus fruits, bergamot and oil. The business has continued to focus on the cultivation of the Nerello Calabrese, Mantonico and Greco Bianco types of grape vineyards and Mariolina Baccellieri has proudly followed in her father Vincenzo’s footsteps.

In recent years, the company has shifted its focus, efforts and resources towards vineyard plantations, particularly the Greco’s vineyard. The Greco vineyards experienced a sharp decline in the last decade and were left behind by many farmers in the region. The Baccellieri Farm, committed to producing an authentic “handmade wine” and preserving its excellence, decided to revive this historic wine with help from the C.A.C.I.B., an agricultural initiative in the Calabrian region.

The philosophy of the company is to recover one after another the old vineyards, some of which are ungrafted, in which there are many indigenous varieties including Guardavalle, Gaglioppo, Pedelongo – in addition to the most famous Greco bianco di Bianco and Mantonico . Formerly very common and today almost extinct, these grape varieties are the best to express the uniqueness of our territory.
