Day 1 – Milan

Private transfer from MXP to hotel in Milan. Today’s time at leisure will give you the freedom to do whatever you want.

 

Day 2 – Milan. Guided walk of Milan with skip-the-line entrance to the cathedral and La Scala theatre

Begin your tour from outside the great, medieval “Castello Sforzesco,” one of the most impressive urban castles in Europe! Your guide will dive into its eventful history: once a residence of the ruling Sforza family of Milan and a military fortress, it was partly destroyed in times of war. Next, your guide will head towards the majestic Cathedral of Milan, a fantastic expression of Gothic art in Italy. It is home to the famous, copper “Madonnina” as well as more than 3,200 statues in the center of its incredible facade. Inside the cathedral, you can find wonderful stained-glass windows and priceless masterpieces from the fourteenth century until present day. After discovering the Cathedral of Milan, you can enjoy a relaxing walk inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, full of trendy cafes and shops. Wander throughout the boutiques of Italy’s most renowned fashion designers and allow them to inspire you for the next season. The tour end at La Scala Theatre, where some of the world’s greatest musicians and opera singers performed, such as Pavarotti, Maria Callas and Giuseppe Verdi and continues to be one of the symbols of Italy and Europe.

 

Day 3 –  Milan

Day 4 – Lake Como. Lake Como and Bellagio full-day self-guided excursion

Visit the charming cities of Como and Bellagio nad take a cruise on the Lake. Enjoy a walking tour of Como city center, then admire the splendid lakeside villas and gardens on a boat cruise across the lake. Reach by boat the famous village of Bellagio, the so-called “Pearl of the Lake”, and enjoy your time in this idyllic and relaxing place. Return then to Milan and relax at your hotel.

 

Day 5 –  Sondrio & Valtellina. Valtellina: Winery Tour and Tasting Experience

After breakfast take your train to Sondrio, make your way and check in at your hotel.

In the afternoon Enjoy Winery Tour and Tasting Experience: discover Valtellina Territory making several stops along the itinerary, knowing more about history, art, architecture, local traditions. Visit one or more wineries, meet the experts and taste the best local wines together with local cheeses, bresaola, hams, bread.

 

Day 6 –  Bernina Express. Bernina Express Panoramic Tour and St. Moritz

After breakfast make your way to Tirano railway station

From the vineyards of Valtellina to the glaciers of the Bernina massif: an incredible journey into the deep heart of the Alps – UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once arrived at Tirano’ station, if needed you can leave your luggage at the luggage storage so you can travel light. Then board the The Bernina Express that starts its route from the town and after a few kilometres reaches one of the most impressive sites of our journey, the wonderful helical viaduct of Brusio.  After passing by Lake Poschiavo and the homonymous town with its typical patrician houses and historic buildings, our journey goes on until we get to the panoramic point of Alp Grüm at 2,091 m, where you can admire a breathtaking view of Valposchiavo. After crossing the White Lake, we reach the Bernina pass with the astonishing Morteratsch glacier and the mountain range of Pizzo Bernina, the only peak that reaches 4,000 m in the Central Alps.  From here, immersed in the peace and quiet of an enchanting landscape, the Red Train begins its descent towards the town of St. Moritz (1,775 m), the final destination of this unique journey. Relax in the lively centre of St. Moritz, enjoy the elegant atmosphere and its shops, and then take your train back to Tirano.

 

Day 7  – Milan

After breakfast take your train to Milan. Today’s time at leisure will give you the freedom to do whatever you want.

Day 8 – End

After breakfast private transfer to your hotel.
