Sports and Prosecco DOC, a Winning Combination

In 2021, all eyes will be on the Dolomites, a mountain range in the Italian Alps, which will host from February 8th to 21st, in Cortina d’Ampezzo, the long-awaited forty-sixth edition of the Alpine Skiing World Championships. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will will not allow public spectators, however fans can follow the action through the various events which will be televised and broadcast worldwide.

From the waters of the Adriatic to the Grand Prix motorcycle tracks, including sports stadium and rugby fields in between, the Prosecco DOC Consortium has always supported professional sport and the 2021 Alpine Skiing World Championships will be no different, with Prosecco DOC accompanying the athletes competing in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

As official partner of the event, the Prosecco DOC Consortium has designed a special bottle ready to be uncorked on the podium with each victory! It is a way of associating, once again, the world of sport with Italian excellence and authenticity exemplified by Prosecco DOC.

In 2020 504 million bottles of Prosecco DOC were produced, 75% of which were sold abroad. There are three different types of Prosecco DOC: SpumanteFrizzante and Tranquillo. The production of Prosecco DOC Rosé began in October of 2020, exclusively in the Spumante type.
