Now Prosecco DOC’s 14th-largest export market, Canada has become something more than a growth chart for the appellation — it’s a growing list of places where Prosecco DOC has proven it belongs. Over the past several years, from a jazz stage to a Roaring Twenties ballroom, the wine has shown up wherever Canadians gather, finding a different reason each time to be the right choice.
Export figures tell part of the story: Prosecco DOC shipments to Canada rose from roughly 11.6 to 12.4 million bottles between 2023 and 2025, with 2026 off to a 17.1% start. But a number on a spreadsheet doesn’t explain why a wine ends up on a jazz festival stage one month, then in a casino bartender’s shaker the next. That part of the story lives in the events themselves — a series of very different settings that, together, show just how far one appellation can stretch without ever losing what makes it Prosecco DOC.
In 2026, from late June to early July, Prosecco DOC became the official sparkling wine of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, served across every bar on site as festival-goers moved from stage to stage. But the real highlight was a space built entirely for the occasion: a dedicated, custom Prosecco DOC bar, where festival-goers could cool off with a glass of bubbles between sets. This outdoor “summer vibe” space even turned into a mixology workshop, with exclusive sessions led by Fanny Gauthier teaching participants how to make two signature Prosecco DOC cocktails. In that same space, two guided tastings with Karyne Duplessis-Piché let visitors sample different producers while discovering what truly makes Prosecco DOC what it is. Add in the live music drifting over from the main stages, and the result was pure summer conviviality — bubbles, brass, and good company!
Picture a chic summer garden party: a grand mansion, grounds stretching as far as the eye can see, and guests dressed head to toe in pink for the occasion. That’s the Rosé Picnic in Toronto, and Prosecco DOC Rosé fit right in as its thematic star. Prosecco DOC was the exclusive sparkling wine of the entire event. More than 3,500 guests arrived to a welcome glass of Prosecco DOC Rosé, posed in front of a custom Prosecco DOC floral-pink photobooth built just for the occasion, then made their way to a dedicated tasting bar to explore the range further. Off to the side, a VIP media lounge hosted exclusive tastings for journalists and influencers, adding an extra touch of sparkle to the coverage that followed. The whole day ran on the relaxed, convivial energy of a picnic with friends simply more elegant, more bubbly, and entirely devoted to celebrating what makes rosé such a success.

Art, street culture, music, and a glass of something sparkling — MURAL Festival is where Prosecco DOC proved it’s just as at home next to a spray can as it is next to a cheese board. The appellation was poured at the festival’s Inaugural Cocktail, then set up its own kiosk directly on the festival’s main strip, right in the middle of the action, so festival-goers could grab a glass of Prosecco DOC throughout the event without ever leaving the crowd. Staying true to the festival’s spirit, a street artist painted a live Prosecco DOC graffiti piece in full view of passersby — an original activation that captured just how versatile the brand truly is.
There’s something special about a glass of Prosecco DOC after a day in the mountains — and that’s exactly the moment Banff’s Made with Love Food & Cocktail Festival was built around. A vibrant outdoor street festival drawing thousands of visitors against the majestic backdrop of the Canadian Rockies, it gave Prosecco DOC a genuinely postcard-perfect stage: a glass of bubbles after coming down the slopes, surrounded by snow-capped peaks on every side. A large, dedicated Prosecco DOC space anchored the festival, hosted by three professional sommeliers guiding visitors through tastings by typology — Brut, Extra Dry, and Rosé — while, right next door, the Made with Love organizers’ own booth served fruity Prosecco DOC spritzes with a creative, refreshing twist. Between the two, guests could sample the full range available, both poured pure and reimagined as cocktails. The energy peaked with a genuine cocktail competition: five talented bartenders from Banff’s most iconic restaurants went head-to-head, each crafting an original cocktail with Prosecco DOC as the star ingredient, judged on taste, pairing, presentation, and creativity. The grand prize? An exclusive educational trip straight to the heart of the Prosecco DOC region in Italy.

Canada’s east coast, same bubbles, a completely different vibe. In 2019, Prosecco DOC made its way to Caraquet (New Brunswick), a historic Acadian fishing village, for Festivin — the region’s own wine festival and a seasonal highlight of its food-and-wine calendar. Prosecco DOC took to the sea for a unique seaside experience, going aboard the local fishing boats themselves before sitting down to a dinner built entirely around the catch: oysters, lobster, and crab, paired with the bright acidity and fine bubble of Prosecco DOC.

Not every Prosecco DOC moment needs a crowd. Sometimes, the better move is to make it exclusive, which is exactly the idea behind the Boat Party: a private cruise aboard the Bateau-Mouche, Montreal’s signature glass-roofed sightseeing boat, reserved for a handpicked guest list of influencers and tastemakers. The format itself was the draw: a closed-door evening on the water, gliding past the city skyline, Prosecco DOC in hand and river breeze included.
At Casino de Montréal, mixology took centre stage with a Prosecco DOC bartender showdown, pitting competing bartenders against each other to create original cocktails built around the appellation. Set against the Casino’s glamorous, cabaret-style energy and its sweeping view over the city, the competition turned Prosecco DOC from a glass in someone’s hand into the main event of the night.

For one night, Le 9e, the Eaton’s Ninth Floor restaurant in downtown Montreal, turned back the clock a full century for a Prosecco DOC event held in partnership with the SAQ for its top-tier clientele: Soirée Bulles: Retour aux années folles. Guests arrived dressed for the part: flapper dresses, pearls, pinstripes, fedoras, for a Roaring Twenties evening. Brut, Extra Dry, and Rosé were poured directly by the producers themselves, tasted pure and reimagined in cocktail form, while Charleston dancers spun across the floor, a live singer carried the soundtrack, and a 1920s-themed photobooth captured every sequined, feathered moment. It was elegance and bubbles in equal measure. The kind of evening where the wine, the music, and the costumes all told the same story: what Prosecco DOC can be when it’s dressed to the nines.

Canada’s connection to Prosecco DOC runs through the kitchen too, by way of Chef Residency, the Consorzio’s ongoing project built on a simple idea: put the appellation in dialogue with the world’s culinary cultures, one country at a time, and let established chefs pass that conversation on to the next generation of hospitality talent. The concept found its very first voice in a Canadian: Dmetro Sinclair, Executive Chef of Montreal’s acclaimed Nora Gray, who led the project’s inaugural dinner in Milan in April 2026, during Design Week. Dmetro Sinclair returned to Italy to headline the residency built around his own country’s cuisine — beginning with Prosecco DOC Dreamland, an immersive look at the appellation’s home territory through producer visits and tastings, before five days of masterclasses and workshops at House of Mediterraneo. The residency closed with a dinner that put the project’s premise on a plate: contemporary Canadian cuisine, built by a chef whose own style already blends Italian technique with Canadian ingredients, served alongside the wine that brought the two traditions together in the first place.
