Founded in 1957, BOSA Foods is an importer of Italian specialty food products servicing the Vancouver region. Having recognized a need for traditional Italian food in the lower mainland, the founder Augusto Bosa began his journey in the 1940s by importing Italian specialty food into Powell River where there were a large number of Italian immigrants working in the mines and the lumber and pulp mills. He created BOSA Foods in an effort to unite the Italian community and as a means to bring true Italian cuisine to the dinner table. In 2006, the Bosa family built a distribution centre and flagship retail store in an effort to expand business operations and supply the growing demand. Through its expansion, BOSA Foods has achieved new heights of success and now supplies some of the best fine dining restaurants, single and multi-unit retailers, manufacturers, and foodservice operations within North America. With over 7000 SKU’s of specialty products, BOSA Foods carries a wide selection of premium-quality Italian and Mediterranean food products such as Italissimo organic tomatoes, specialty pastas, buffalo mozzarella and Parmigiano Reggiano.

Situated in the heart of Vancouver’s “Little Italy”, La Grotta Del Formaggio was founded by the Bruzzese family in 1977 as a small Italian Deli. For many years, it has supplied Vancouverites with high-quality foods from across the Mediterranean. In 2005, Domenico Bruzzese took control of the business operations and expanded the small Commercial Drive store into a large specialty food wholesaler with the help of his father. Drawing inspiration from his cultural heritage and culinary background, his vision with the business was to share the experience of Italian cuisine. La Grotta Del Formaggio wholesale is now an established distributor, importer and broker of local and imported culinary products. It carries a vast selection of traditional Italian food products and specializes in fine olive oils, organic pastas and cheeses such as Taleggio, Parmigiano Reggiano and Fontina Valdostana.
- Cioffi’s Meat Market & Deli
Cioffi’s Meat Market & Deli was founded in 1990 by Antonio Cioffi and his son Rino. It is known for offering the best in Italian specialty cold-cuts, cheeses, and fresh butchered meats. Over the past decade, Rino and his younger brother Sergio have expanded the business operations to include wholesale, catering and take-out in keeping with their commitment to offer the highest quality local and European foods at competitive prices. Their focus is on fresh, local, natural and handmade foods using only the best products they can find and their specialty is local, free range and organic meats butchered to order. Cioffi’s Wholesale division supplies many of the top restaurants in Vancouver and they’ve expanded their business by offering catering services through their Cucina division. The Renzullo Food Market was founded by Carmello Renzullo in 1964. It is a family-owned business that has been in operation for over 50 years. It is a one-stop shop for Italian food with a large selection of imported products such as San Remo tomatoes, marinated vegetables, high-quality olive oils including Sasso Olive Oil, specialty balsamic vinegars, De Cecco pastas and much more.
- Tosi & Company
Tosi & Company was founded by Peter Tosi in 1906 as an Italian Deli and it is currently being operated by his son Angelo. It is the oldest Italian Food Specialist and Importer in British Columbia and has been serving Vancouver, Burnaby and the lower mainland for over a century. Tosi & Company carries many Italian speciality products and it has a wide selection of Pastas, including whole wheat pasta, Risottos, Polenta, Balsamic Vinegars and Olive oils, olives, anchovies, a variety of traditional Italian and Canadian cheeses, and salamis. Some of its speciality items are Tiger Brand olive oil and a selection of Sagra Extra Virgin olive oils, organic Parmesan from Parma and Tuscany, super-flavourful canned tomatoes from Naples, and vegetable seeds.
