Red Grape Varieties: Ancellotta, Cabernet Franc, Fogarina, Lambrusco, Malbo Gentile, Marzemino, Merlot, Sangiovese
Reggiano DOC is a wine-growing region located in the western center of the Emilia-Romagna region, in the heart of Reggio Emilia province. This area is characterized by wide plains and a poorly ventilated hilly area which produces distinct red wines.
The Lambrusco grape is most prevalent in all of the wines and is characterized by a dry, floral taste that contains bursts of juicy red berry notes. These wines pair well with typical Emilia cuisine like tagliate with meat sauce, tortellini, lasagne, salted pork, gammon, rice cakes and all of the local meats.
