Cantina Settecani was founded in 1923 on the principles of quality, authenticity and tradition.
The winery is located in the heart of Lambrusco Grasparossa’s territory, located in the hamlet of Settecani, on the border of the towns of Castelvetro, Castelnuovo Rangone and Spilamberto. A winery that has grown from 48 farmers in 1923 to over 200 farmers today, never stopping to set new and ambitious goals, overcome difficulties, and celebrate success. This family-run company has worked together over the years to create a unique brand, develop new products, and enter into new foreign markets, which has resulted in many achievements, awards, and high-quality products.
At Cantina Settecani, the family embraced the region’s rich history and situated themselves amidst the churches, castles and vine-covered hills that define such a traditional territory. They use a combination of cutting-edge, modern technologies with the traditional family processes while also respecting the environment and promoting sustainable production. The Cantina is proud to have produced a product which has attracted many important admirers, such as the famous Italian cyclist Gino Bartali who travels all the way to Modena to enjoy the delicious Lambrusco Settecani in the historic restaurant of Zoello and always brings a trunk full home – a tradition that continues to this day.
Cantina Settecani has been awarded the prestigious V.I.V.A. certification from the Italian Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea for its excellent production processes and sustainable products.

When was the last time you had dinner in an Italian restaurant in Canada and you thought you were dining in Italy? That’s exactly how “Ospitalità Italiana Certified”restaurants want you to feel when you visit their fine dining establishments.
Ospitalità Italiana is an official certification from Unioncamere, Italy’s federation of local Chambers of Commerce and Industry, that tells you that the food you are enjoying is unquestionably Italian: products are authentic, ingredients genuine and recipes true to the thousand year history of Italian cuisine.
Canada is home to some leading Italian Chefs. Passionate and innovative, many have refined their skills and advanced their knowledge directly in Italy. In addition, Montréal boasts a fabulous cooking school ITHQ where young aspiring chefs learn Italian technic and Italian traditional recipes from the masters.
So the next time you make reservations for an Italian dinner in a Montreal restaurant, ask if they’ve received the Ospitalità Italiana seal of approval. You will enjoy the true Italian taste.
