Celli

Overview

Established in 1963, the Celli Company has been owned since 1965, by the Sirri and Casadei families, nicknamed Bron & Rusèval. A customary tradition in Emilia Romagna where farming families historically assigned a nickname, which was then handed down from father to son.

With a carefully selected variety of wine grapes chosen from over 30 hectares of vineyards located in the municipality of Bertinoro, an area that is unparalleled for its climatic conditions and geological characteristics, Celli vineyards has been able to establishe a consistent level of control over its production methods and its wines.

Utilizing advanced integrated protection system, without the use of chemical herbicides, Celli vineyards have been able to establish a modern approach to winemaking that negates many of the negative processes often associated with more tech centered viniculture. This is seen throughout the grapes processing which utilizes modern technologies to enhance the organoleptic qualities of the grapes.

The vineyards location in Bertinoro, with its magnificent views to the sea and the rolling countryside, is also a historical hamlet that has retained many of its ancient charm, with narrow cobblestone streets reminiscent of days gone by. The wide and elegant Piazza della Libertà is the heart of Bertinoro. It leads to the Romagna plain on one side and the Cathedral, City Hall and the Tower on the other, with the Column of Anella in the background.

The town provides a historical counterpoint to the modernity of the vineyard, showcasing the strong interplay that the Celli winery has managed to achieve through their paring of modern winemaking with traditional methods, guaranteeing both consistency and quality.
